The key ingredient to helping patients and their families is love and support.

Just Loving Kindness.

The key ingredient to helping patients and their families is love and support.

For over 40 years, James has worked with patients with severe psychiatric disorders and their families. During that time he has watched families struggle to help their loved one. Families end up making trial and error, hit and miss decisions. James helps the family form a strong clinical team to make healthy treatment decisions. When the family is well trained, has a quality communicative doctor, and an excellent treatment plan, then the patient can become stable and independent. Alongside this, James also helps the patient by either supervising case management services or personally providing case management services.

Testimonials

“James Kay brought balance and calm into my life. A bipolar episode at 48 years of age hit me out of nowhere and our world turned upside down. His support helped me recognize that I had some choices to make. His positive suggestions and direction was important in the road to recovery.  I trusted him; he helped build the bridge back into reality and saved relationships that otherwise could have been harmed.  I’m forever grateful as are my two kids and husband to have James Kay in our lives. I highly suggest James Kay to anyone who is suffering from alcoholism and or mental illness. He will change your life for the better. A kind, wise, and gentle soul with a gift to connect to the human spirit no matter what the circumstances may be. He was my light when I was in a very dark hole. He lifted me up onto my feet.”

“Dr. Kay is a wonderful resource and support for both clients as well as fellow clinicians. For clients, he helps them identify and work towards their goals. For families, he helps educate and guide them through what can be a confusing system. And for clinicians, he fosters a collaborative system of communication so that all members of a treatment team are updated and keeping each other informed.”

“I highly recommend Dr. James Kay as an adviser and as a consultant for any family who is seeking help for their loved one. My daughter had reached a point in her life where she was shutting down and staying in her room. She pulled away from her friends and she did not want to be around our family. This lasted for over two years. Jamie was able to successfully help my daughter not only get back on track with her life but to also thrive. James guided me and my family with the best possible success plan for my daughter. He found a wonderful interventionist. Together they trained me to change for the better, which allowed me and my family to eventually work with a plan and with the resources given to us, to help save my daughter. Since James started, my daughter has received the treatments she needed which has enabled her to become a functionally member of society. She lives on her own in her apartment. She has part-time job. She may one day return to college. James still stays in touch with my family for tune ups. He is wise and resourceful. He has been kind to my family and is now a family friend. I highly recommend Dr. James Kay to any family who is struggling with their loved one.”
